Packaging for Maskeliade Cards
Package design
We designed the packaging, illustrations, and instructions for Maskeliade Cards — a deck of 107 graphic scores created as a source of inspiration for musicians.
The cards are conceived as a creative tool rather than a finished statement. Each one combines a short textual prompt with an abstract illustration, encouraging interpretation instead of giving direct instructions. Together they form a flexible system that helps musicians start new ideas, rethink unfinished tracks, or break out of creative stagnation.
The visual language draws from the idea of graphic scores — using shapes, rhythms, and visual tension instead of traditional notation. Illustrations don’t dictate how the music should sound; they suggest direction, atmosphere, or movement, leaving space for personal reading and experimentation.
The packaging was designed as a tactile object meant to be used, shuffled, and returned to. We developed a compact box and a clear instruction sheet that explains different ways to work with the cards — from quick intuitive draws to more structured creative sessions.
Maskeliade Cards exist at the intersection of music, play, and design: a physical set of prompts that turns the creative process itself into an open, exploratory act.
